I think you will enjoy reading Code Name: Verity by Elizabeth Wein when it comes out (well, at least in the UK, but that's what Amazon is for). It's about World War 2 in France and British female pilots and wireless operators that help the French resistance, and about female friendship. Bring tissues, though!
