I have arranged the photos below the cut to represent my experience walking through the town, entering the gardens, now looking at the entire view, now leaning in to inspect a single flower.

I wish I knew what the pink trailing plant in the water is! Some kind of lycophyte maybe.

Probably Chinese lantern plant. People who aren't me can likely eat the tomatoey fruit if they want. (To me the flavor contains a very strong note of whatever tastes awful in bell peppers.)

I don't know its botanical name, but I know it as jack-o'-lantern plant. You might search under that.
