Links to all the Yuletide stories I've ever written.

My final treat was in response to this adorable prompt from [livejournal.com profile] livii:

For the Cherry Ames series of books: well, no one offered this but me, so you didn't match on this, heh. But in case you are not inspired by the other options and/or are feeling like a big challenge, this is Cherry, and you wouldn't have to read more than one book to write in the universe, and I wrote the request with the hopes someone would actually offer and match in it, but for you, if you feel crazy and want to write in this, I would basically just pass out to see Cherry fic at all, so you can write pretty much anything you like. If Cherry gets to kiss a girl, you will have officially won the entire internets and five ponies. :D

Request was: Just have fun with it - give Cherry a new assignment (in the [X] Nurse vein), give her a new mystery to solve during an existing time period (I love WWII stories, for the record, or ones set while she's at school), have her fall in love - I just want something as sweet and lovely as the books, with the underlying current of duty and devotion to the profession of nursing that Cherry has. If you can work in Gwen and Ann or any of the Spencer Girls, all the better - Cherry's male beaux are awesome, but at heart, she's such a sweet little lesbian, and I love her and her girlcrew and would adore some femslash.

Cherry Ames, Summer Camp Nurse

Rachel here: I loved these books as a girl and many of them hold up well as an adult. The nursing is pretty realistic, and Cherry is a sweet but strong-willed woman who enjoys dating men but always puts her career first. She also, as [livejournal.com profile] livii noted, is very fond of her female friends.

I would have offered to write this fandom if I’d noticed it on the list, so I couldn’t turn down such a heartfelt request. I wrote the story in about two hours and you can probably tell, but I did my best to keep it faithful to the books. Really, the only part that couldn’t have come straight out of the original stories is the gender of the person Cherry kisses.
