Yeah, I would think soft tissue injuries of the ribs would be more plausible in that scenario. Bruising probably. Strained or possibly separated ribs if he twisted forcefully when trying to grab her. I suppose if he slammed into the ground after he got hold of her that could've caused a broken rib... but three of them? Is he supposed to have osteoporosis from the alcohol or something?
