i've written a treat (SUDDENLY) and i have a rough idea for the main story, but just like... staring at it intently and flailing. urgh.

There should be a ticky box for 'I'm not signed up but I'm writing someone a treat anyways'...

I am so far behind my usual schedule here.

Passed the halfway point . . . the fun part of the story should start once I get in a massive battle sequence . . .

Oh god - so my giftee wants angst and I'm writing darker than I normally do. So far so good. But there's an established point of canon (dark) that I could potentially spin into an interesting plot twist only it's potentially pretty triggery.

It's not in their Want/Do Not Want list. They specified a go-between who can help judge tricky issues - but said go-between has not gotten back to me. (I'm being over-anxious here; it's not really that long since I asked.)

Still, the urge to ditch a half-written story and just do fluff is running strong now...

(Maybe I'll write them a fluffy treat as well: cover the bases sort of thing.)

Aargh.

I'm not finished my main story yet, but that's not for lack of having started- usually I write 1k stuff for challenges, but this year my story spiralled into an 8k monstrosity, and it's still going.

Also, when I am done, I'm going to try and write at least one treat. I'm on a roll, so why stop now?

I'm not writing a Yuletide story. I was recently accepted for joining AOL, so I look k forward to doing Yuletide fics in future. :)

Good luck to everyone who's doing Yuletide!

I was convinced to skip signups this year and grab a pinch hit, which has worked for me several times in the past. Unfortunately, there's been nothing I could really do a good job with so far. :(

I wrote a couple hundred words and am probably going to scrap all of it and start over once I'm finished with the semester. Luckily, I'm not exactly going anywhere (broken ankle = inside, mostly bedridden, definitely not going home for Christmas), so I should be able to finish it without too much trouble.

You may already have noticed - but Yuletide has fanfic for the Werewolf Marines books.
