One more thing: the character who is most like diary!Burr is, of all people, Thomas Jefferson! Horrifying racism aside. But there's a hilarious running joke about his inventions, which don't work, work only by accident, might kill you (unless they're a weapon, in which case they couldn't kill a fly), etc. I don't want to spoil it but there's a bit with a special bed (which I assume is a real Jefferson invention) which is SO FUNNY.
