I finished Princess Tutu and Spooks/MI-5 season three on successive nights. I may post in a substantive manner when I finish collecting the scattered and melted pieces of my heart and mind, but in the meantime, you guys feel free.

I thought Fakir could not be more awesomely hot and then they made him A WRITER.

Fakir/Ahiru writer/muse transcendent OTP of dancing DOOM. I want some Orihime Bridge of Birds-style human-bridge crossing, dammit!!

Princess Tutu makes me thank god for fanfic, because as perfect and right as the ending is, I might have cried myself to death if I hadn't had a bunch of post-series epilogues to read for comfort.

I know is it not awesome?! The plot machine! There's an actual story reason for all the clockwork gears behind Drosselmeyer! The whole thing with the walled city and strange people just appearing at the gates! Rue! Fakir and Ahiru OTP!!!!

Because if they hadn't, the ending wouldn't have gut-punched you as hard. :D That, and dwelling on the FMA ending, was what made me write that post (http://telophase.livejournal.com/677423.html) about the elements of pwoerful endings. :) Which also had a bit of a genesis in the comments on this post (http://telophase.livejournal.com/649143.html), which you didn't read because I told you not to.

I think the part I love the most is that, despite Fakir writing Ahiru's actions, the lines between muse and author and character gets completely blurred, until they are each other's inspirations. Meta driving the story! Feedback loops gone climactic!

I love that even more than Kraehe's slutty ballerina outfit.

I sometimes amuse myself with imagining the last handful of episodes written in the style of an Icelandic saga. As Seigfried (yes, that's his real name, just as in Swan Lake!) and his bride ride off in their swan carriage, the narration comments, "And now they are out of entirely inside the story."

Toward the end of season one, when I became a Fakir/Ahiru fangirl, I thought I was just making things up because I'd fallen for Fakir, and much as the pairing might rock, it was surely not what the writers had in mind--clearly Mytho/Ahiru was the destined pairing, after all.

And then instead they followed through and built on this, and let Fakir/Ahiru happen. Which made me unbelievably happy.
