There is also opium. But the heroine does get given a reefer by the villain, and smokes it all the way down before she realizes that it is Not A Normal Cigarette, but by then she's rendered giggling and incapable of movement. It could have been spiked with opium, but it doesn't say so, and with all the (rather inaccurate) discussion of pot, I think it's just supposed to be pot.
