I'm just going to note that although we got ten inches of snow yesterday and today a half mile walk to the grocery store (for milk) involved wading through hip-deep drifts in some places, Minnesota has far fewer insects and less interesting insect life generally than warmer places.

Which did not stop me from getting a pantry moth infestation once, but that just involved discovering dead larvae in my freshly-cooked bowl of ramen, not being attacked by a mass of flying moths. I really do think the climate may be a factor here.
