It's funny, I was just talking to Andrea yesterday about how much that insight had improved my quality of life; it was such a huge relief to realize that most people are concerned about their own personal dramas, in which I hardly ever play a role, and for the most part they probably hardly even *notice* me. But I think there are some people whose immediate response to it is quite negative -- they would rather feel that the whole world is relating to them with malign intent than think that most of the world is paying attention to other things (I am thinking about some specific people close to me, in fact). I don't think it's conscious, but not everyone responds to "Everything is not about you," as a good insight, at least not right away.
