Never mind that fire and thus cooking is correlated with dentition shifts and bigger brains a very long time ago.

I get so very very tired of the "technology is unnatural"; no, no, technology is a social consequence of our society, and that's as natural as anything because that's how we evolved. (Un-metaphorically; social skills arms race.)

My take on this is that the control and the misogyny are certainly factual. I can't tell if they're running cover for, an emergent property of, or maybe the same thing in a different hat about making it impossible to discuss food quality. Pretty much at all. (Because if you could discuss food quality you'd be committing materialism, so far as I can tell.) Food quality is important, but not if everyone's an identical spiritual envelope.
