I think no. "Ghostbusters" is really is its own thing, and a subgenre of horror/mystery rather than depressing realism masquerading as fantasy. No one's disappointed or learns a special lesson that ghosts aren't real when they unmask the fake ghost, they're just pleased to have captured a villain.
