I'm not Rachel, but I'd say Gerald's Game (King) is an absolute masterclass in this. The basic premise, which happens on the first page: a husband handcuffs his wife to the bed during sex at a remote vacation cabin and then dies of a heart attack. With no one knowing she's there, facing an awful death of dehydration and starvation, she is stuck trying to free herself while she slowly realizes that there's something awful in the house (other than her husband's dead body) and it might be after her. You'd think that this would drag, since there's literally nothing happening except a woman trying to remove a pair of handcuffs attached to the bedframe, but it's absolutely riveting in large part because of the intensity of moment-by-moment sensory detail and the tension of her POV.
