I KNOW. Like every time Biggles basically either just takes off on his own or is like "Hey I'm gonna go do this thing, see ya" to his CO or whoever the hell is on call was absolutely wild to me - I mean, I totally believe it happened, but it was SO different from anything I'd read about with modern militaries.
