Dear Sufficiently Advanced Creator...

Thank you for writing for me! If you have any questions, please check with the mods. I am a very easy recipient and will be delighted with whatever you write for me. I have no special requirements beyond what's specifically stated in my DNWs. I'm fine with all POVs (i.e., first, second, third), tenses, ratings, story lengths, unusual formats, etc.

My AO3 name is Edonohana. I am open to treats, including art treats. Very open. I love them.

I like hurt-comfort, action/adventure, domestic life, worldbuilding, evocative descriptions, camaraderie, loyalty, trauma recovery, difficult choices, survival situations, mysterious places and weird alien technology, food, plants, landscape in general, X-Men type powers, learning to love again or trust again or enjoy life again, miniature things or beings, and animals. And many other things, too, of course! That list is just in case something sparks an idea.

General DNW:
General Do Not Wants:

- Issuefic (preachiness; stories whose main point is some kind of political/social issue), current political figures.

- Literal covid (other illnesses with similar symptoms are fine, as are pandemics or epidemics in general), real-life terminal illness like cancer (non-realistic stuff like super-soldiers with a limited lifespan is fine), dementia and brain damage, digestive upsets, graphic dental trauma, and the gross kinds of bodily waste (blood, sweat, and tears are fine).

- A/B/O, PWP/porn without plot (sex in a story that also has plot or character or relationship stuff going on is fine!), adult/child sex, spanking, infantilization.

- Unrequested change-the-setting AUs (canon divergence AUs are fine)

- Non-canon human pregnancy and babies or a heavy focus on canon human pregnancy or babies (baby aliens, adorable kittens, older human children, etc are fine).

- Death of requested characters or characters who don't die in canon, unless I specifically say it's OK for that canon. Presumed dead or temporary death (as in a time loop) is fine, so long as it's reversed by the end. I'm fine with original character deaths.

Art-specific DNW: Extreme gore (blood spatters, bandages, etc are fine) and graphic sex or genitalia (bare breasts and sex that's clearly happening but doesn't show genitalia or liquids is fine).

Children of Time Series - Adrian Tchaikovsky
WB: Corvid-alien hybrids
WB: Other abandoned terraforming projects
WB: Stomatopod History & Culture

Note: I have not yet read Children of Memory but I will have by the time the exchange is revealed. Don't worry about either spoiling it for me or contradicting it.

I would love a story that explores any of the uplifted cultures not shown in the books or not shown in detail. Tell me about a corvid-alien hybrid storytelling contest, or a stomatopod martial art school schism over smashing vs spearing, or the corvid ambassador's culture clashes with the stomatopods, or invent a completely new terraforming project - naked mole rats! pill bugs! geckos! - and tell me a story about them.

The Dark Tower Series - Stephen King
Jake Chambers & Eddie Dean & Susannah Dean & Roland Deschain & Oy

- The ka-tet walks into a western trope: a town ruled by an evil gunslinger, lost without water, treasure that corrupts, feuding ranches, a gold rush, a ghost town, etc.

- The ka-tet walks into a horror trope: a haunted house, a creepy carnival, an overly friendly town with secret rituals, an apocalypse log, a place of alien geometry, a haunted painting, etc.

- The ka-tet finds another portal - into the past, to an alien planet, to an epic fantasy realm (where the unicorns probably eat you), to an alternate New York City, etc.

- Stephen King crossover! Feel free to do a crossover with any King book I'm familiar with. Please check with the mods if you're not sure.

- I would also be completely happy with a slice of life where they sit around the camp fire, forage and hunt, compare stories, etc.

Duma Key - Stephen King
Edgar Freemantle & Jerome Wireman

- Another conversation in Duma Key.

- La Loteria is a little kinder, and Edgar joins Wireman in Mexico.

- Same as above, and they encounter further spookiness in Mexico.

Earthsea - Ursula K. Le Guin
Ged & Serret

- The gull is a little faster, and Serret escapes with Ged.

- An untold creepy encounter in Oskill.

- Ged and Serret talk about their magical training and philosophies - her mother was an enchantress and given the isolation of the Keep of the Terrenon, it doesn't seem like all magic in Oskill can derive from the stone.

The Iron Dragon's Daughter - Michael Swanwick
Jane/Tetigistus/Kunosoura
Solo: Jane

Note: I used the true names as I'd be happy with any incarnation of Tetigistus and Kunosoura, including the implied ones on Earth or new ones in Faerie that we didn't see in the book. Feel free to make up their names if they don't have canon ones.

- Once they're not in the rigged game of Faerie, can Jane, Tetigistus, and Kunosoura have a less doomed and tragic relationship?

- Doom and tragedy is fine too! I'd be delighted with any bittersweet, heartwrenching moment between the three of them in their canon incarnations.

- For Jane solo, I would love to see her dealing with any of the bizarre, dream-logic, modern life meets folklore inhabitants or places of Faerie. I'm especially partial to her high school and college timelines.

Ki and Vandien Quartet - Megan Lindholm
WB: Any
Ki/Vandien

Canon-specific DNWs: Goat.

The world is so strange, with such odd beings and locations. I like how it feels somewhat like fantasy and somewhat like an alien planet. I'd be fascinated by further exploration of any of the beings, customs, places, or mysteries in the series.

- An early adventure of Ki and Vandien, right after Harpy's Flight.

- Vandien's post-Luck of the Wheels status with the Brurjans embroils them in new adventures or trouble.

- Ki's Windsinger history comes back to haunt them when she starts developing actual powers.

- Ki and Vandien confront Vandien's family.

Northwest Smith - C. L. Moore
Northwest Smith & Yarol the Venusian
Northwest Smith/Yarol the Venusian
Solo: Northwest Smith
Solo: Yarol the Venusian

- Yarol and/or Northwest Smith have a lush, weird, sensual, bittersweet adventure.

- They visit Yarol's hometown on Venus, perhaps with a bit of folk horror - maybe he left for a reason.

- Another eldritch horror sets its sights on Smith - or Yarol, for a change.

- Exploring a spooky ruin.

- Exploring an abandoned, drifting spaceship.

Revelator - Daryl Gregory
Stella Wallace & Sunny Birch
WB: Any

I'd love to see some of the writings of the Birch women, annotated or not. Did any of them ever keep a secret diary? What did they think when they finally got to read other books? What were the earlier Birch women like, what did they make of Ghostdaddy, and what stories did they tell? Are there more Birch women after Sunny, or is she the last?

So what does Stella do with an eldritch alien/weird spooky child entity??? What does the Sunny/Ghostdaddy being want to do now??? Do they go to war? Do they reach some kind of accommodation?

Stella vs. GhostSunny in a battle over the fate of the world, or at least over one town? Sure! Stella finally gets a chance to confront Ghostdaddy when it can reply to her? Go for it! Stella conflictedly raises the GhostSunny child? I'm there for that! GhostSunny learns bootlegging? Why not? GhostSunny contains the memories of previous generations of women? It could happen!

Shadows of the Apt - Adrian Tchaikovsky
WB: Any

Canon-specific DNW: Like so many of the characters, I DNW Totho.

I've read the ten main books, the books of short stories, and Echoes of the Fall. Feel free to draw on any of that canon.

Feel free to either create original characters or to write about any canon characters with a focus on worldbuilding. I love, love, love the kinden. I would love it if you invented a kinden and wrote me a story about them. I would also love if you explored a canonical kinden in more depth. I was especially intrigued by the Butterflies (their names especially fascinate me) and the Woodlice (they're Apt AND Inapt, what is up with that?!) and the Starfish (are they really non-sentient, WTF???), but honestly I'd be thrilled with a story focusing on any kinden.

I'd prefer a story that isn't war or politics-centric, as we got plenty of that in the series. You could write me a story about a lonely Roach girl taming a wild ladybug, or Thorn Bugs falling in love, or the first Earthworm student at Collegium, or a Pillbug doing whatever Pillbugs do in their downtime.
