Oh hey, new Killjoy! I've read A Country of Ghosts, which is kind of a thinly disguised anthropology study in the vein of Le Guin and which I absolutely loved, and her two Danielle Cain novellas, which are kind of modern urban fantasy where everyone is a queer anarchist. Those were, as you say, fine, but I still really enjoyed they felt so fresh and different. Honestly I've found all her stuff to be fine at best as fiction, but her perspective makes them really enjoyable for me anyway.
