rachelmanija: (Oh noes!)

ARGH

I just took a half-hour drive out to the house of an acquaintance to pick something up. Got back, realized I left my purse at her house... which has my wallet and my only phone in it... and I don't have her phone number anyway. Emailed her, waiting for her to email back.

ARGH.

On the positive side, unlike the poor Wiscon 2008 ("VomitCon") attendees, I am not throwing up. I think me and my bottle of hand-sanitizer will be getting intimately acquainted at A-Kon this weekend. I hope norovirus isn't endemic in Texas...

I think it's supposed to hit 102 or so degrees this week. The germs don't stand a chance.

Though heat exhaustion can also make you vomit.

Use soap and water, the medical warnings posted say hand sanitser does nothing against this virus. Also bleach water in the bathroom if you do get sick. I hope you stay healthy.

What's happening at WisCon? Norovirus attack??

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like it. People were getting sick at the con, and some got sick afterward.

I'd take along Pepto or similar as Murphy-be-gone insurance.

I phoned your phone so that hopefully your friend would hear it and realize it was at her place.

Also, the business cards came in and they look good. :)

I have the awesomest (although prescription) anti-nausea medicine EVAR. Unfortunately, a couple of hours after you take it and finally eat, it sends you directly to sleep. XD

Thanks! Argh, still no response. If I don't hear anything by an hour or so, I'll drive over; she had earlier said I could come over for dinner, so someone should be home.

Better than puking!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully you got it. :)

I was in World Market buying a small, cheap basket to put stickers in up in the art show, and found a bucket o'chocolate coins - over two pounds! - for $10, so got it.

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! We will not lack for chocolate, because I also bought $10 worth.

I did get my purse. And was also fed dinner. It's all good. Except for my dilemma:

Do I watch Top Chef, then wake up six hours later to catch the flight?

Or do I go to bed early, then probably lie awake until I wake up six hours later to catch the flight?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my TiVo will catch Top Chef - barring any cable issues* - so if you don't watch it, we can watch it here. :)

* I'll check and see if the cable went out and set it to catch any of the 3423423432 repeats on during the night if it did.

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2008-05-28 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, you record it, and I'll go to bed early. Thanks!
