I'm adding to the anime list, Yukikaze, the story of men-who-love-men-who-love-planes. There are also aliens, mass hallucinations, and giant space portals in Antarctica. The plane may have been blown up three times, maybe not. Rei may or may not be an alien clone (and actually dead for the entire series), and possibly Jack has gone insane or possibly he is living happily ever after in Australia playing with his boomerang and his now invisible boyfriend.

Or the alien's won. We're still trying to figure it out.
