Upscale southern summer barbecue

I took

rikibeth's advice and went in a flowered sun dress, plus a light cotton jacket. (Which I needed- it got slightly cold.)

No one had any clue what the dress code meant, though "something with a flower print" was a popular interpretation. I saw women in everything from little black dresses to jeans to satin pants suits.
