Can anyone think of anything positive, either in their own lives or in the world at large? If so, tell me! I don't mean happy kitty photos (unless they're of your own kitty who makes you happy) but actual events or news that doesn't suck.

George W. Bush will be leaving office in less than 50 days. And I am making Christmas cookies.

As far as I can tell, he's mentally retiring already. And Obama seems to be diving in headfirst.

Personally, my wonderful in-laws will be here for a visit in two weeks. I think they're pretty nervous about traveling to Taiwan but I'm sure it will be a good visit. And we'll get to spend a few days in Thailand, assuming things have settled down there. My brother is engaged and getting married next year and my BIL and his wife had a baby six months or so ago, all happy things.
