Farmers Market Month, Day 3: Chinese broccoli, cider bread

I just finished gobbling a slice of just-out-of-the-oven cider bread spread with maple butter, as per this recipe. It was definitely gobble-worthy. Grade A, would bake again.

ETA: Just finished gobbling second slice.

Just-baked bread

For lunch (and forthcoming dinner) I had a slight variation on yesterday's lunch/dinner, fried "rice" with acini de Pepe, the rest of the Chinese broccoli, the rest of the kimchi including its brine, Chinese sausage (pre-steamed), and hoisin sauce. It was just as good as Take 1.

Tomorrow I am getting up early to hit the Santa Monica farmers market and be back in time for the plumber.

Cool, I didn't know you could make "beer" bread with hard cider! I'm definitely going to have to try that.

WHAT you can make beer bread with hard cider WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME?

I must go inform my entire gang of beer bread making friends and arrange a hard cider bread night IMMEDIATELY. (Which means it will actually take place in like three months because sadly we all live in different places now.)

(Surprisingly I don't really mind the taste of bananas in banana bread; it's about the only thing I don't mind bananas in.)

I find beer really offputting so I've never been tempted to try beer bread, but cider bread sounds like it might be up my alley! I'll have to give that one a shot.

That bread looks super tasty! technically I am low carbing for two months but I already baked the Japanese milk bread rolls someone linked to in your original bread post and they were great, so maybe I should just give in.

This sounds like a thing to do with the bottles of pumpkin cider a friend filled my pantry with; they are just a little too intensely pumpkin for me to want to drink them, but I suspect they would make good bread.
