You know, on the one hand I don't think it's INEVITABLE that you come out of an emotionally fucked up career in the brutality of dance as it's pursued in our culture and write a second book wherein you have Deep Spiritual Revelations via Anal Sex where you refer unironically to your anus being a tunnel of despair filled with ghosts.
But on the other hand, given some of the dancers I have known, it's also not a shocking or out of character place to end up.
(This is not a feeling that is unique to dancers. I suspect it's more BECAUSE dancers are part of the sphere of On Stage Performers Under Stress. Never, ever underestimate the Fantastically Special that can come out of that.)
