We veeeeeery briefly touched on 'companion animal as manifestation of some part of you/your soul' and mentioned Pullman (along with Beukes' Zoo City), but didn't get much chance to explore it. (This was one of the panels where I feel like we could have talked for another hour, easily, and still barely scratch the surface of the topic.)
