man, you know, I have given up demanding of Doctor Who fans WHAT EVEN IS A "COMPANION" WHEN DO THEY EXPLAIN THAT and WHY DOES HE ALWAYS HAVE A YOUNG WOMAN FOLLOWING HIM AROUND, but if they had just told me, Zoe, it is a creepy companion animal fantasy, I would have understood. that is an illuminating context to put it in.
