This post filled me with so much joy. And that's BEFORE I got to a certain part of it. In fact, when this post first went up, I was scrolling through, just loving all the pictures, and I got to one of the peppers, stopped there, and thought, I want to comment on this, stuck it in a tab… and didn't get any farther. Then your next entry went up, and I was commenting on that, and then lots of work happened, and before I knew it, it was 10:30 pm and I'd fallen asleep on the couch.

Fast forward to *now*, 2 am, I'm up, checking email, see a message from you, and think, Oh yeah! I loved that post! The LA photos! and I start composing this reply, STILL WITHOUT SCROLLING THROUGH TO THE END OF THE POST.

And then I happened to catch your photo of your feet, and I'm like, now what's this one? --and then I read what's right below :D

I still want to write you about how that first picture just makes me feel like flying, and how all the random abandoned shoes makes me think of this scene of abandonment (https://www.flickr.com/photos/86761435@N00/14810783576/lightbox/) I came across in my dad's town, but now I'm pleasantly distracted. That tree you're sitting on looks just like one near here that I practice getting over fear of height on (by walking along it). And I like the notion that I could enjoy all the flavors and multilingual sounds of urban Los Angeles, and in the same day hike in such lovely wild surroundings.

Thanks for the email. If you hadn't sent it, I might have written the whole comment without ever properly scrolling to the end of the entry, and I wouldn't have known what I was missing.

(P.S. Back to food though. That market! Those peppers and eggplants! … I want to be there. And that last photo. I can practically hear music and conversation.)
