It'd strike me as being a more fair use of someone else's image if you were to use the "comments" space in the user photos interface to give a photographer credit and her URL. Or, hell, even put Heather's name on her photos. As it is, it looks a lot like you're trying to pass her images off as being images of you, and while that doesn't appear to be your intent, it does give that impression to the casual observer (it was certainly what it seemed like you were trying to do to me, before you provided a link to your explanation).
Heather's a working artist; her photography, much of which as you know is selfportraiture, is a lot of how she makes her living. As her friend and collaborator, I hope you can appreciate how much it means both to her and to all of us who are independent working artists that our work is respected and correctly identified as being our own.
