I'm sure you're all following the revelations that the occupying forces of America have been behaving much like the early stages of Nazi Germany and, more to the point, Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. But in case anyone would like a concise round-up, one which could easily be copied and e-mailed to Republican friends and family members, here's mine:

"The Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal took an explosive turn yesterday with the revelation that photos and graphic videotapes not yet made public show abuses more horrific than those already seen.

Signaling the worst revelations are yet to come, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said the additional photos show ``acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel and inhuman.''

The unreleased images show American soldiers beating one prisoner almost to death, apparently raping a female prisoner, acting inappropriately with a dead body, and taping Iraqi guards raping young boys, according to NBC News."

Among many other forms of torture and abuse, he mentions:

"A male MP guard having sex with a female detainee;"

"Using military working dogs (without muzzles) to intimidate and frighten detainees, and in at least one case biting and severely injuring a detainee;"

"Breaking chemical lights and pouring the phosphoric liquid on detainees;"

"Beating detainees with a broom handle and a chair;"

"Sodomizing a detainee with a chemical light and perhaps a broom stick."

And apart from Abu Ghraib...

"U.S. soldiers who detained an elderly Iraqi woman last year placed a harness on her, made her crawl on all fours and rode her like a donkey, Prime Minister Tony Blair's personal human rights envoy to Iraq said Wednesday."

If a foreign occupying army was committing these atrocities in America, I would devote the rest of my life to killing as many of them as I could before they killed me.
