My friend Jody, whom I suckered into both Shotokan karate and LJ, has finally knuckled under and started writing in her LJ, [livejournal.com profile] canandagirl. Go say hello. ;)

They used a photo of me at about seven, standing on a swing, clad in a pink dress against a baby blue background, and the subtitle "an Indian ashram childhood." I recall that the word "ashram" got vetoed for the American subtitle on the grounds that people wouldn't know what it meant. This is like "philosopher's stone" vs. "sorcerer's stone." My name is in pink. On the cover, the title is white, and on the spine, it's baby blue.

The cover's pleasingly eye-catching, and I am assured it's "very selling." But I have to say, the colors alone make it the girliest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I hope men won't be scared to buy it.

Also, USA Radio Network is interviewing me for "Daybreak USA." That's the good news. The bad news? They have to do it at 6:40 am. I am SO not a morning person. God only knows what I will sound like-- drugged, probably.

Whee, off to see [livejournal.com profile] oyceter and [livejournal.com profile] fannishly tomorrow, and [livejournal.com profile] literaticat on saturday!
