My gallery contains photos of me in a characteristic pose, and also of a delicious salad composed of spinach, strawberries (!), candied pecans, and a poppyseed vinaigrette.

ETA: That's my parents' house in Santa Barbara. I am reading This Lullabye by Sarah Dessen, a well-written, well-characterized, and funny YA novel about a tough girl, her oft-married mother, and the goofy musician she means to have as a summer relationship, but who has unexpected sticking power.

On the table, you can see A Game of Kings by Dorothy Dunnett (finished by my step-mother) and Peeps by Scott Westerfeld (finished by my cousin the all-but-dissertation parasitologist, who praised its accuracy with the parasites and was calling my parents' cats "peeps" all day, as they lurked on her chest and stared at her with large glowing eyes as she read.)
