Does anyone know the purpose of the surreal spam messages I and others get?
They are not selling anything. They may use religious imagery or quotes, but not always, and they do not appear to be proselytizing. Sometimes they are strings of words that make grammatical but not logical sense, like "Fling the swamp away to the happy conductor of blithe cardboard and England," and sometimes they express an understandable if weird concept in each paragraph, but the paragraphs have little or no relationship to each other.
Who is sending them, and why? Schizophrenics who buy lists of addresses? Or is there some for-profit motive I'm not getting?
