Here's the loose itinerary for my trip to Japan with [livejournal.com profile] telophase:

August 23-26. Arrive in Tokyo. Recover from jet-lag at the cheapest hotel in Tokyo.

August 27-28. Visit
Koya-san and spend two nights in a Buddhist temple, Sekishoin.

August 29-Sept 3. Return to Tokyo, attend Worldcon.

Sept 4-5. Visit the little towns on the old Nakasendo Road (click on that link even if you click on no other) and stay at the Tajimaya Ryokan.

Sept 6. Spend one night in Osaka. I'm trying to book at the Hotel Kinki. (Kinki is a region, but yes, mostly because I want to say, "And then we spent a night at the Hotel Kinki.")

Sept 7-12. Stay in Kyoto at my favorite inn, Crossroads, which is pictured on my icon. I love that the Kyoto tourist bureau has a list of what flowers are in bloom at what temples.
