Day 1: Put all my food in termite gas-proof bags.
Days 2-4: Skipped town, boarded cats.
Days 5-7: Apartment is getting all the paint scraaaaaaaped and sanded off, all day, beginning at 8:00 AM. Fingernails on blackboard outside my window right now, with a gentle accompaniment of things crashing into walls. Cats freaking out. Interview with grad school today. Still jet-lagged.
