A Quokka Dreeds its Weird

I absolutely loved the first book when I was a kid--but yeah, my racism-o-meter was not the most developed at that point and I'd be... interested to go back and re-read. I do remember at least skimming this one, too, but all that's really stuck in my head was it being weird and hard to follow--and the bit about people being comatose in their own time when they travel through the cupboard, which didn't strike me as dark at the time but sure does now. And I definitely didn't remember the all-consuming hatred of plastic.
