you need to read the other 17776 fic, about cooking a steak dinner from scratch: it's absolutely sublime, and it'll appeal to your foodie feels. (and the canon itself is also amazing, by the way, both 17776 and the prequel - very thoughtful, very american in a good way, very feel-good.
