The review you give is exactly the impression I had of it! [ETA: to clarify--the impression I had/have of it without reading it! I haven't read it. I don't think I'll probably read it, but I can see both why it appeals and why people don't like it.]
It's not without flaws, but some of the critiques of it I think are interrogating the text from the wrong perspective. ;) --lol. I love the tongue-in-cheek Tumblr critiquey-ness of this line.
