I especially appreciated seeing her that way because otherwise my last look would've been....
None of us had thought about getting a DNR order on file for her. Although she'd already been gone for 30 minutes by the time the ambulances and fire trucks arrived, and my dad and I begged the paramedics to stop, due to a lack of DNR we had to watch several burly men violently attack my small, frail grandmother's body several times to try to force it into a legal definition of life. I am so glad my brother wasn't there to see it.
