I need help with a couple of words for a project.

1. I need words that mean, more or less, "energy," "a person who manipulates and/or studies energy," and "the art/science/craft of manipulating/studying/storing/channeling/etc energy."

These words have to be easily pronounced by English speakers and not be extremely well-known under a different meaning. In other words, Poul Anderson's extremely cool use of the word "work" to mean "energy" (and "stuff" to mean "matter") in Uncleftish Beholding won't work.

These words could be archaic, obscure, and/or newly created from Latin or Greek roots. (Or other ancient languages with roots that will seem intuitively familiar to English speakers, ie, East Asian languages probably won't work for this, but Arabic or Sanskrit might.)

These terms should not, however, be made up out of thin air. So if you have any ideas for this, please let me know where they came from.

2. Alternatively, words that mean, more or less, "magic," "magician" and "the study of magic" might also work. However, they need the same qualifications as the "energy" words above.

Thanks!
