Heard last testimony (much less stultifying than yesterday's) plus closing arguments. Tomorrow we deliberate. I am really tired, despite sitting down all day; I suppose I'm expending a lot of mental energy.

Read today at lunch (an apple, a bottle of milk, a peanut butter sandwich, and a Fast Break peanut butter nougat candy bar): Her Majesty's Dog volume four (manga): One of my very favorite manga continues to be sweet, touching, funny, and thoughtful. Very highly recommended, if you haven't tried it yet. Unlike many manga, the first volume is excellent, though the first chapter is different in tone from the rest of the series.

Also read half of Annie Dalton's YA fantasy The Rules of Magic. Will report when I finish it.

I just finished re-reading Vol 4 the other night. It's certainly one of my favorites at the moment. Can't wait to get my hands on Vol 5....whenever that might be.

Yay Her Majesty's Dog! Probably much, much more fun than testimony and deliberation.

Actually, there was one really, really entertaining witness, and I had to make a serious effort not to fall out of my seat at one point during his testimony. But still not as entertaining as Her Majesty's Dog. I especially love how the plot keeps coming to points where normally in books the characters react by doing stupid, self-destructive, or hurtful things, and her characters... behave like intelligent, considerate people.

PS

Wasn't Hiro great last night? His broken English, Memory Waitress' mispronounced Japanese, it's all funny and sweet until suddenly he's solemnly making his big speech and it's really profoundly moving (and, you know, he's absolutely correct, and he's the only person who's really accepted his responsibility so far)... and then Ando's sitting there counting by himself, and it's so disquieting and sad.

Re: PS

Eep, skipping over this quickly as have not seen it yet (mom here, mom has tendency to talk over TV).

Re: PS

I have now watched it! I cheered so loudly at Hiro's speech and his quiet determination to do good, and I totally squeed at the language exchange and how the show made it work, and poor Ando!

Also, that last shot of the picture was so cool!
