I saw the community mentioned elsewhere & decided to join in; the number of books (not manga) I've read by authors of colour can be counted on one hand, I'm afraid, and all of those but one were for a class rather than for myself.
My voracious manga habit is another matter entirely, but I also plan not to count it for this challenge, since by now it's well within my comfort zone.
