Hm. I both agree with most of this review, and still enjoyed Mockingjay, but I'm not sure I can articulate why. It was definitely not as good as the previous books (I actually think the high point of the trilogy is right before the games begin in the second book and it's all downhill from there), but despite frustrating me with its hopelessness, there were still quite a few things that hooked me (I liked seeing what was going on under the surface with Finnick, and I was interested by the developments with Peeta post-rescue, and the ambiguity of Katniss voting for a final Hunger Game really worked for me). Still, I'm not sure how I come out feeling good about the book in the final analysis, when I agree with so many of the criticisms here.
