Dad and Sherwood admire the waterfall.
We stopped at a look-out point...
...looked back at the road...
...and at the side of the road.
At a river.
Here Dad and I discussed trout fishing.
Perhaps someday we will pull trout out of those waters, roll them in cornmeal, and fry them in bacon fat. I have wanted to do that the entire life - the legacy of many hours spent reading "Little House" books.
And then there were waterfalls.

Also, I also spent far too long reading the "Little House" books. Have you heard of "The Wilder Life: My Adventures in the Lost World of Little House on the Prairie" by Wendy McClure? I recommend it! It's a memoir about a woman who goes out to find as much about the real history behind the books as possible- she visits the sites the houses were on, and tries to churn her own butter, and so forth.
