I just finished Clouds of Witness. It was pleasant, with a nice bit of Peter-faces-Death characterization and some really distressing bits on women's freedom back then.

I LOVE JENNIFER ROBERSON. Her last book in this series was disappointing (still haven't finished it), but the original trilogy is gold.

If you're around, can you edit the post (I believe you can't edit polls) to add a closing italics tag, so that the rest of my flist isn't all italicized as a result? Thanks.

I liked _Clouds of Witness_ better on my last re-read than I had before, though it is rather low on plausibility in spots, even for Sayers. I haven't read any of the rest.

Midnighters has real potential but suffers from being the first of a trilogy of which the next two have not yet been published. It could either be amazingly cool, or... not, and it depends on the later books. The set-up is perfectly reasonable but not brilliant as a stand-alone.

RG Veda is my nomination for CLAMP's prettiest art.

Clouds of Witnesses was where Sayers caught Whimsey's voice -- she didn't really have it for the first novel. Also, it's the sort of mystery with a map of the house, which is of course isolated -- it always is in that sort of mystery.
