PROJECT BLUE ROSE

#

The above back cover copy for this is still in a draft state, obviously. But I do plan to have something like that, and then a more sober one-paragraph plot description below it.

For those of you coming in late, this is an original, self-published manga-style comic book created by myself and [livejournal.com profile] telophase, spun off from an earlier, never-published 20 page version. You may know it under its working title of "Gay Mutant Black Ops."

I just finished the 44-page script. Go me. I'll be tinkering with it for a while, but at least it's more-or-less there. The main characters are the same, but there's more background on Project Blue Rose, a new character or two introduced, more relationship building, an altered character background leading to a significant plot change, and a five-page sex scene. With dialogue.

It will include full-color wraparound cover art, plus bonus pin-ups and a manga essay by [livejournal.com profile] telophase.

This will have a very limited print run of fifty copies, at seven dollars each. Reserve one now if you know you want it.

ETA: These will ship in early November.

ETA: Just comment here to reserve a copy, and that will reserve one for you. We haven't worked out the payment logistics yet-- maybe we should set up a dedicated Paypal account.

ETA: OK, looks like we're going to do a slightly larger limited print run. Don't worry if there's more than fifty reservations-- everyone who wants one will get one.

Doujinshi written "same person document", so the implication is heavily to the fanfiction rather than original story side of production. I can only speak for myself, but when you used that phrase I spent some time trying to figure out which other series you were drawing characters from. If you feel like doujinshi is perfect for your story's feeling of Japanese culture, maybe "original doujinshi" would be clearer?

Sign me up! (Doesn't doujinshi refer to fancomics? Unless you consider this a doujinshi of the orginal, unpublished Blue Rose.)

From: [identity profile] elfiepike.livejournal.com

my understanding was that doujinshi can also be considered as self-published comics.

Just a response to one of the ETAs: Paypal and I are nemeses, so I would be grateful if there were offline mailing address sort of payment-type available as well, even if it means waiting longer to get my book.

PS

I had completely, totally no idea your other account was you, so when that account popped up today with the announcement that she had written a manga that [livejournal.com profile] telophase had illustrated, my first thought was, "Wow, that [livejournal.com profile] telophase really gets around!" Then I processed the name in the link.
