I have an urgent query. If an agent asks for a brief outline of a book and the first 3 chapters, should the former be as long as eight MS word pages??

My recollection is that "brief outline" usually means "one to ten pages" unless you've gotten a more specific request, such as "a one-page outline."
You could also ask the agent, but of course it would be preferable to just submit exactly what they want.
I suggest that my readers chime in, since a lot of them have submitted novels more recently than I have. (This is for a novel, right?)
