Gundam Wing: Disc 3, episodes 11-15

My elbow is killing me, so rather than write up a proper review, I will cut-and-paste the chat session I had with oyceter on the subject.

That episode where Zechs fights some guys in a swamp or something was the most confusing thing ever. I have no idea what happened, and am hoping it doesn't actually matter.

Also, Tallgeese is apparently talking to Zechs. That can't end well.

But most importantly...



11:30 AM me: I just posted on Gundam Wing. Have now watched the subsequent disc as well. Am convinced that Trowa has a mad crush on Heero.

Oyceter: HEE1 i've been saving your post to read after i catch up on email!
heero/trowa - their love is so insane and suicidal!

11:31 AM me: Trowa keeps talking about how Heero's suicide attempts are superior to his own! He tends Heero's wounds and repeatedly expresses concern!
Most of all-- he lets Heero use his gundam.

11:33 AM Oyceter: HEE OMG YES!! I FORGOT THE TENDING OF THE WOUNDS
now that i am finally caught up on tv, i can start watching eps again
we should totally watch some episoes together on the phone

me: Trowa has now SEVERAL TIMES said, "Heero, you are not yet recovered. Let me take out the bad guys for you."
And Heero lets him!
YES! That would be AWESOME!

Oyceter: HEEEE!
OMG! YES! that's right!
i forgot so much!

me: Um. I am now at the end of disc 3. We could watch the Zechs/Heero ANtarctic battle tonight.

Oyceter: ok!
though i have to clean the rat cage first

11:35 AM me: Trowa is now officially my favorite, by the way. I'm sure that will change on a dime, though.
His gundam does circus flips!

Oyceter: OMG! i forgot!
with giant machine guns!

me: He tightrope walks on a clothesline because Heero's arm is bleeding!
And melodramatically falls out of his gundam ALMOST into Noin's arms.

Oyceter: yes!

me: (That's where I left off.)

Oyceter: (is noin still cool? i can't remember if my liking for her is me just wanting any good female character or if she's actually cool)
omg. i so forgot all of this

me: You must re-watch! Seriously, just re-watch the end of "Catherine's Tears" and... um... I think episodes 14-15 have the action I've been describing.
Noin is a bit co-dependent and enabling in supporting Zechs' penis envy and insanity.

Oyceter: heeee!

me: Though quite competent.

Oyceter: sigh. yeah. the saddest thing is i think all the women are codependent

me: Actually, there's more cool female characters in this show than I had expected.
(Some of them are probably co-dependent but I haven't seen it yet.) Sally Po, Knife-thrower girl, Une, and the family of the pacifist Heero blew up are all pretty cool so far.
Catherine punches Trowa out for trying to blow himself up! That was awesome.

i feel most of the women on the show are underappreciated because of relena

11:44 AM me: Even Relena had a good moment recently-- she tried to shoot Une, and almost hit her. Blew a Rose of D00M off her chest!

Oyceter: he is so very aristocratic. you can tell because he drinks champagne while taking bubble baths
omg une shooting guy from plane!
anyway, basically treize staged operation daybreak, which is oz (the secret branch that includes all the specials pilots) taking over the earth alliance/whatever they call it
so he's now in command

11:49 AM me: Yeah, I eventually figured that out.

Oyceter: hee. it is really confusing
i can't remember why he wanted relena killed
oh dude! heero blowing up all the pacifists! that was awesome

11:50 AM me: Everyone wants Relena dead except the writers!
I am now imagining Drosselmeyer's hand at work.

Oyceter: yes! and heero's subconscious self

me: Yes, I laughed when that happened.

Oyceter: has he protected her from falling rubble yet?

me: Yoon and I couldn't tell if he was shielding her or dumping it on her!

11:51 AM Oyceter: alas, shielding her. and then asking himself whyy? why can i not kill her?

me: She is as indestructible as Heero. Their babies would be like suicidal psychotic Wolverines.

Oyceter: snorfle

me: Drosselmeyer wouldn't let him!

11:52 AM Oyceter: oh hey! zechs took off his mask?
OMG! the tallgeese!
me: Yes, but he's still pompous. And it just makes me laugh every time I see him with the mask still on.

Oyceter: BWAHAHA you got to quatre and the soul of the universe!

me: HE USED TALLGEESE'S COMPONENTS TO FIX HEERO'S GUNDAM!

11:53 AM Oyceter: treize at least pretends to sound logical. zechs is just nuts
omg!

me: Something no kokoro, yes. I look forward to Quatre's insanity. (I love empaths.)

Oyceter: omg yes
OMG! you got to otto selfsacrificng!

me: It is really amazing how much fondness I feel for all the crazy little pilots. Even Wu Fei, last seen angstily rafting down a river in China.

Oyceter: going "zechs banzai!"

Oyceter: they are all so crazy. except duo.

me: Darn, Duo never goes nuts?

11:55 AM Oyceter: no, he is incredibly sane!
OMG! quatre getting the soul of the universe's heart attacks!

me: I guess someone needs to be the voice of sanity.

Oyceter: yeah. he does have to suffer an undignified bandaid over his nose at one point though

me: I loved the bit when Heero tells Trowa to listen to his feelings and follow his heart.
I thought, Normally I'd agree with that... but since it's Heero advising Trowa, it will all end in suicide.
Someone should slip anti-psychotics and SSRIs in their drinking water. Duo could do that.
