This is a call for donations-- manga donations! Please pass it on.
I recently discovered Reader to Reader, a group which provides books for underfunded school libraries.
The woman I have been corresponding with is stocking the severely needy library of a school on a Navajo reservation. The kids there love reading manga, but can't afford to buy it. And their library can't afford to buy it. The kids have also been looking for more information on manga, but their few school computers have either no or extremely limited internet access.
Please send these kids your spare manga and books on manga. In the US, books and comics may be sent via media mail, which is relatively inexpensive.
Everyone deserves to read books and comics that they enjoy. Please help with this very worthy cause.
If you send any manga, please comment (ideally with what it is) so we can all enjoy seeing the library grow.
NOTE: You don't need to ask if your manga is something they want! As long as it's in good condition, they want it. Don't worry if you only have volumes 2 and 9 of a series-- the librarian in charge will put the series together from other donations.
