1. Question for people who understand this: was the financial crisis in Europe caused by the one in the USA, or would it have happened even if the USA was doing fine? Or is it much more complicated than that?
2. Despite having spent plenty of time both barely scraping by financially and contemplating what I would do in case of a conventional apocalypse (earthquake, war, zombies) I have not, until now, considered what I might do in case of a financial apocalypse, in which there would be no demand whatsoever for any job I've ever done (entertainment/writing, sales, miscellaneous white-collar temping, disaster relief, teaching.)
I think I might join the CHP, assuming they're still recruiting and they'd still want me (I have been solicited to join the police a few times in the past-- apparently women who study martial arts are in high demand, even if they are in their thirties and very small.) Money for doctors and police is the last to go, right?
ETA: To clarify, that would be only IF a Great Depression actually occurs.
