INTENSELY boring testimony today. Can't explain why, but you will sympathize when the case is over and I can tell you what it was that we heard about in such EXCRUCIATING detail. The jurors were all trying not to fall asleep.

Read YA novel, Thin Ice by Marsha Qualey, during lunch. Teenage orphan girl raised by adult brother has brother disappear, presumed dead; she begins searching for him though everyone thinks she's nuts. A nice quick read, but not suspenseful enough for a thriller nor deep enough for an exploration of grief and family secrets; also, the ending depended on a random coincidence.
