Blissfully Blindsided, by Robin Alexander. Blaze Sonnier made national news while dressed as the Easter Bunny in a brawl where she was trying to defend herself, and earned the moniker Bitch Slap Bunny.

Once Ghosted, Twice Shy, by Alyssa Cole. F/F spinoff of a series about fictional (modern) African royalty. Can I read this without having read the earlier M/F books?

Colorblind, by Siera Maley. YA about a girl who can see how old people will be when they die.

Rising From the Ashes, by Caren Werlinger. I started this a while back and the tone was very serious. However, the heroine was raised by telepathic badgers.

Hi! I'm following because I think I used to follow you on LJ and never made the connection on DW!

But also, telepathic badgers.

Voting for Chicken Run, because it's a fun book and we can talk about it after you read it (plus: CHICKENS), and for the Alyssa Cole one, which I've never heard of and have no idea if it can be read on its own, but she's a pretty well-known romance writer so it can't be terrible, and it sounds fun!

It can be read on it's own, though you'll have a much better idea of what's going on in the background if you've read the first book in the series. (You don't need to have read the second book, though.)

I am also keen on the Alyssa Cole and haven’t read the earlier ones, so I await the answer to your question!

I'm not a romance reader, but I can't resist chicken farmers.

I think the Alyssa Cole one can be read on its own as long as you know the basic premise of the first M/F book (i.e. the names of the heroine and heroine, that they got together, and the name of the fictional country) (and even then you can figure all that out from context clues).

I very much enjoyed the Alyssa Cole (and have a half-written fffriday review of it) and I think all the context needed is provided in the book.
