Lew Alton, Regis Hastur, et al: "Dyan Ardais broke my elbow! Dyan Ardais ruins the lives of innocent cadets! Dyan Ardais rapes twelve small boys before breakfast every morning!"
Kennard Alton: "Now, now, everyone's got their little quirks."
Regis Hastur: "And also, Dyan Ardais made illegal use of telepathy for the purposes of sexual harassment."
Kennard Alton: "OMG! He must be stopped!"

And this is different from the English public school system how? or any of those systems meant to turn boys into MEN, who will then aver that 'it never did them any harm': I think of Pat Conroy's The Lords of Discipline. It really is about finding a point sufficiently outside the normal parameters, at which the meta-system will think it appropriate to intervene. Such as Flashman coming in falling-down drunk in Tom Brown's Schooldays: roasting the fags is harmless trad fun, but being incapacitated through strong drink is not. Or the theft in 5th Form at St Dominics.
